Hologram Lizards
On this post-truth planet called “the dream of separation,” lovable liar is as good as it gets. It’s what we and the warmongers have in common.
Why don’t we sit quietly with ourselves? Because we’d catch our Reptilian brain stem surrounding itself with hologram lizards.
So parched is the Robosapein mind for a taste of One Being, it settles for whatever sick company it can get. The “intimacy” of shared aversion: better than another Friendless day in the meat sack.
There. No more wondering why we war.
Haunted by the sound of distant war drums? Stop. There are souls nearby and just around the corner who need you to listen them into Being. To summon forth the Psyche of Cosmic Dimensions staring through their hurtable human eyes. In no other way will they make meaning out of all this suffering. In no other way, can we.
Back and forth, we must take turns offering ourselves as soul-mirrors and, in this way, repurpose the Middle East metaphor:
Your smile invades and conquers my heart.
Our Go-To Brand of Suicide
It’s Scorpio season. Time to confess and undress:
All egos move on a continuum of self-harm.
On one end of the spectrum is suicide. On the other, the kinder, gentler forms of life-snuffing: indigestion from over-eating; the normalized malaise of negative thinking; the solidifying of self-hatred by projecting it out onto others.
Understood in this way, the impulse to trash the gift of life is not so deviant or abnormal. Every ego has its go-to brand of suicide– waiting to be met by the Merciful Witness.
Why is suicide so baked in the cake? Because, through the eyes of “orphaned ego on a countdown,” life is, at best, burlesque: teasing turns of pleasure prancing on a dreary, deterministic stage.
Astrology applauds this courageous naming of ego’s worldview, adding:
We are here to meditatively undress God’s archetypal circumference so Deathless Being can swoon as it meets itself in others.
The good news: this Scorpio season is jacked up on Mars/Jupiter energy, fueling– yes, beliefism and its kissing cousin, war– but also the toughness and heroism required to see through the hologram lizards and repopulate our world with lovable liars so that- war or no war- we can get on with evolving our little corner of consciousness.
Sun/Mars Oppostion Jupiter: Nov 1st-9th
Tracking the Bottom Feeders
If you’re anything like me, when you stare into an aquarium, the first thing you notice are the iridescent blues. Yet, the bulk of attention is spent tracking the movements of the dark and lumbering bottom-feeders. Why?
In the shadowy depths of the subconscious we all know: unquestioned conviction is the manifesto of a serial killer. Is this the bottom feeder that so fascinates?
What, then, is the litmus test for a healthy conceptual lens? Simple. One that reminds us that the purpose of life is to dive through the portal of each ragingly incomprehensible moment, giving thanks to the Shepherding Presence who serves “moments” like spoonfuls of baby food.
Said as a declaration of faith:
I believe in the value of Beginner’s Mind and the ventilation of belief through archetypal self-inquiry.

The Four Stages of War
With the Sun and Mars conjunct in Scorpio, tormented by harsh aspects all month, November is a war zone. Assuming the war doesn’t go global, the conflict unfolds in four overlapping phases:
Nov 1st-9th: Sun/Mars opposed Jupiter: Blind conviction
Nov 1st-21st: Sun/Mars opposed Uranus: Trigger finger danger
Nov 17-Dec 3rd: Sun/Mars square Saturn: Violence condemned/restrained
Dec 1st- Dec 13th: Sun/Mars Trine Chiron: Mediation and compromise
Let us pray that further bloodshed is circumvented. Failing this, let us pray that astrology contains the war inside the borders of November.
Saturn Direct/Full Moon in Sagittarius
Saturn went direct on the 4th. This means career goals begin moving forward against this bellicose back drop- though tangible evidence of advancement may not show up until December. In the mean time, go ahead: design, print and begin passing around your new business cards.
The light at the end of tunnel arrives on the Full Moon in Gemini on November 27th. Despite its tense square to Saturn, the Sun, Mars and Mercury have moved out of smoldering Scorpio into panoramic Sagittarius signaling a return to principle and perspective.
No News For Neptune
Is your chart strongly influenced by the sign of Pisces? Do you have personal planets or points (particularly Ascendant, Sun, Moon or Mercury) in challenging aspect to Neptune or in the 12th house? If so, I suggest you have a thicker-skinned friend filter the news for you this month. This is not escapism. This is you keeping your otherwordly aura sublimely untouched: a refuge of vital importance to the news-ravaged amongst us.
