Astrodharma Transit Report: October 2023

The first few days of October Christen us with a grand Trine. Pluto, Moon and Mercury are joining hands in a sublime Kite formation, aimed at the implausibly faithful planet, Neptune.

If you listen hard, perhaps you can hear them singing of a distant time when the scandals “out there” virtually disappeared as every shadowy projection was instantly pulled back and “re-owned.”

A kinder time, when “forgiveness bombs” were freely lobbed and heartless shenanigans exploded into psychopathic fairy dust.

Why are the planets stirring our mythological memory? Perhaps to remind us:

The world exists not to be fair or make sense, but to give honest, ego-cornering feedback about how we’re inhabiting consciousness.

How then shall we move through the fairy dust? On what surfaces will our Mercurial attention land when God, the holder of all happenings, surrounds and engulfs us?

Thankfully, this month’s Solar and Lunar eclipses are here to guide the way.

Note for fridge

Swollen with power, shriveled in defeat, spectacle without meaning, until head bows to feet.

The First Ten Days

During the first ten days of the month, willful Mars and intimidating Pluto shake the Lunar nodes, pushing us to “confess and undress” even as Saturn forms a sobering opposition to Venus until the 16th.

The message is clear:

Love is a kiln designed to fire orphaned ego into a Godly vessel and unresolved trauma keeps our clay in a slurry state. Pluto/Mars barks, “Get a therapist.”

For long term couples hesitating to move beyond fitful romance into a lawful, emulative station in the matrix, this could be a make-or-break month. Your amorous bodies are, after all, on a countdown and Saturn wants a skeleton of a plan.

Fortunately, life-loving Venus in Leo (ruler of both eclipses) is Trining the north node and sextiling the south node for the first ten days. Ah, just what the doctor ordered: a creative spark that overflows our gift to the world.

Oct 14th New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra:
Scandalous Aliveness

Now is the time to allow any outgrown (but, perhaps, highly identified with) jobs, goals, relationships or ways of life to “go dark” so you can set off in a new, more enlivening direction.

To get there, you may need to navigate some push-back from your partner, family or the work team. Why? Because tough-love Pluto is squaring the Sun, Moon, Mercury and the Lunar Nodes in Libra.

My advice: take the hit. With tears in your eyes, apologize and earnestly communicate that your desire is not to abandon or dishonor anyone, but to preserve aliveness and growth.

Are scandals erupting all over the internet, tempting you to become a morbid shadow hound? Stop! You’ve waded through months of astrological traffic to get to this green light. Don’t get distracted by the titan’s dirty laundry. This is your time to focus on the wild and noble dream growing moldy in your subconscious.

Oct 28th Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus

Bite Your Tongue

At the end of the month, as more and more Libran planets roll into the sign of Scorpio, the issue becomes less about ambition and direction and more about interpersonal dynamics and what both parties need to feel treasured and secure.

Again, Pluto forms a square– this time to the Lunar nodes- while hard-ass Mars in Scorpio tempts us to sting with defensive speech and hasty action.

Take advantage of Saturn’s stabilizing Trine to the Sun, Mercury and Mars by not doing or saying anything rash. You’ve invested large chunks of your precious human life into building this bond, so bite your tongue and wait until some version of the change you tentatively floated comes back at you from their side.

Uranus, after all, is forming an open-minded Trine to Venus. You might be surprised at how flexible they can be around a historically intractable issue– providing they have significant say in how it all goes down.

One way or another, life is in the mood for change and the best way to navigate this eclipse season is to honor the dark genius of the dream as you blast it, over and over, into psychopathic fairy dust.
