The Astrodharma Podcast #1: You’re Not Safe; You’re Eternal

April 1, 2022
In this podcast I introduce a powerful new koan practice, a chant designed to break us free of “screen prayer,” a mystical redefinition of good and evil and a timely dharma prayer designed to inspire equanimity in times of crisis. Also included: my monthly Astrodharma transit report, “The French Fry Meditation” and a crash course on how to use war as a catalyst for confession.

The Astrodharma Podcast #2: In the Body, On the Earth, As it is

May 1, 2022

In this podcast I ask the question, What if profanity is “aborted self-inquiry?” And what if “materialism” is the fear of disappearing? From there, we dive into what astrology really is (a love story), examine the Taurus neck as a “somatic scripture” then engage in some Taurus self-inquiry practices. Next up: “Eclipse-o-Grade:” the title of this month’s Astrodharma Transit Report, followed by advice on how to navigate the Total Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio on May 16th. To close the podcast, I offer four powerful “embodiment catalysts”, some shrewd Scorpionic intervention techniques and a few tips on how to become a “mystical troublemaker.”

The Astrodharma Podcast #3: Caravan to Midnight

June 1, 2022

In this podcast I explore five ways to embody rock solid faith in the midst of relentless change and breakdown, see all beings as superheroes and dismiss conspiracy theories as kid stuff compared to the shocking truth of who we are. Next, I describe how astrology pushes us to “die before we die,” celebrate Gemini’s unique approach to meditation, offer a Gemini prayer, nail down the best time to travel in June and describe how vital it is to make peace with the mortality-mirroring nature of love. Finally, I send a shout-out to Saturn retrograde for helping us discriminate between survival and soul-calling as we live out our days “nine meals from anarchy and one breath from grace.” To close the podcast, you are warmly invited to join me for five minutes of devotional chanting.

The Astrodharma Podcast #4: The Astrology of Prayer

July 1, 2022

In this podcast I discuss the interdependence of meditation and prayer, prescribe God-talk as an antidote to Transhumanism, explain how prayer and astrology are both “bridges between longing and belonging” and why our “prayerless funk” is a form of spiritual wife-beating. Next, I dive into why long-term relationships are dying alongside the personal God, ask why anyone would meditatively invest in a “blip with a lip” and propose that souls needs prayer like cement needs rebar. To close, I present six astrological arguments for the existence of a personal god and guide the listener into a short prayer using their newly-chosen name for God. The podcast ends with a question. If Astrology showers us with divinely inherited personality traits, what happens when we pooh pooh the personal dimension of god? Are we not shooting ourselves in the foot?

The Astrodharma Podcast #5: Only Awareness Understands

September 1st, 2022

In this podcast I squeeze dharma from a band called, Three Dog Night, explain why it’s insane not to sprinkle our days with divine pauses and redefine “awake” as “self-respecting brokenness.” Next, we dive into a dark, unspoken truth: meditation is self-absorption unless it gives rise to “soul-seeing, on-the-spot.” From there, we explore ways to jump-start this soul-seeing by inquiring into the body’s “Somatic Scriptures,” constantly prodding us to break the trance of Aries “selfing” and allow personality to flower like a dream character from the Piscean ground of Being. To close, we sit with a question, “Why are egos so averse to prostration?” and end with two dharma prayers: the first, a punchy “reset” designed to pivot us out of reactivity; the second, a cleansing confession designed to catalyze “positive disintegration” and set the mood for full-bodied reverence.

The Astrodharma Podcast #6:
Mad Enough to be Mortal; Sane Enough to Disappear

October 1, 2022

In this podcast I define “happiness” as “timeless glory,” and “reactivity” as the moments “when the singing babies go silent.” Next, I describe the stage sets on which soul-mirroring happens and discuss the support systems souls need to balance Aries “selfing’ with Pisces reabsorption. From there, I dive into the dangers of not coming out as a teacher, then give a personal example of how to harvest teachings from our waking dream and convert them into “mystical slang.” Finally, I define “addiction” as a symptom of confusing time-numbing with time-transcendence and close the podcast with “Portals to Presence:” a powerful Astro-Koan practice that comes with a downloadable reference chart for use at home.

The Astrodharma Podcast #7:
Ideologies and Empires come and go. Astrology Remains. Why?

November 1, 2022

In this podcast I begin with a salute to Scorpio eclipses, pen a stingy Scorpio prayer, bow to the dharma of collapsing governments, explain why Millennials and Gen-Xers are indifferent to religion, but “on fire” with astrology, take a peek at the “therapist of the future” and explain how tomorrow’s counselors and priests will identify and treat the root of neurosis: “cosmic claustrophobia.” Finally, I explain how astrology mends together the split halves of the Sagittarius archetype, replacing the rigidity of religion with a lifetimes-long, psycho-spiritual art project.

The Astrodharma Podcast #8:
Talking Styles and the Soul in the Voice

December 1, 2022

In this podcast I introduce an intentionally provocative mantra designed to jab at our spiritual complacency. Repeated ten times by different beings, I invite the listener to feel into the soul of each voice and be heartbroken by the way mediumism wrestles with role play in all of us. Next, I describe how important it is to break free of “toxic mansions,” why we are drifting into a dystopian future and how this future might be averted by realizing, “Belief is a blood bath. Communion: sublime.” Finally, I bow to the voice as a “de-cloaking device,” point to the bedrock of benevolence in all beings, describe how to build trust and rapport with the twelve talking styles and end with a dharma prayer called, “Whispering Stillness.”

The Astrodharma Podcast #9:
Full Spectrum Vision: The Enlightened Endgame of Astrology

January 1, 2023

In this episode, I give a living example of what self-inquiry practice looks like by peeling off the layers of preconception built into the question, “Are these times darker and more vexing than others?” Next, I describe what awaits us when we climb the Himalayas of Heartbreak, stop falling for the “trait bait” and know personality as “drifting archetypal smoke.” Finally, I define “wise loving” as the endgame of all astrological study, reveal the dangers of “Advaita Speak,” describe the very good reasons meditators shun astrology and demonstrate how “felt archetype” can lead us back to true being.

Astrodharma Podcast # 10:
God In Our Bones:

April 1st, 2023

In this podcast I point to a hopeful trend: the “God as energy” folks are flirting, once again, with a personal God. This is Saturn in Pisces prodding us to spiritually mature and break free of the “free-roaming entity” unseen-by, unloved-by and unaccountable-to any ultimate authority. Next, I explore how faith changes our talking style, cycling us through stages of “me-story, muteness and mediumship” as we muster the courage to see how our Presence-killing attitudes, beliefs and opinions spread like STD’s. The podcast closes with a prayer that conceives of God a an unruffled paramedic on duty 24/7 inside us, who stays up all night drinking karma like caffeine.

Astrodharma Podcast # 11:
The Sky That’s Hosting Us: Healing our relationship to space and recovering our timeless buoyancy

May 1st, 2023

In this podcast I reveal the meditative root of the word, “horoscope,” explain how the savoring of outer atmos-phere helps us savor our inner one, and wonder if the ancient practice of sky-gazing might offer relief from melancholy and the lonely habit of moving through dead space, replacing it with “a psyche of cosmic dimensions.” Next, I ponder the way education trains us to become form-fixated and suggest that the manner in which we breathe is the truest measure of how we feel about space. Finally, I dive into the different philosophies of space, the dharma of the “sky signs” and propose that, in the final analysis, we have only one freedom: to relate “across” space or “as” space.

Astrodharma Podcast # 12:
The Himalayas of Heartbreak

June 1st, 2023

Astrology ends the search for untethered highs, replacing it with unflinching realism and soul-seeing poise. As we accept the banks within which hurtable humanness flows and devote our lives to cultivating “self-respecting brokenness,” we enter a state of mystical sobriety that I call “The Himalayas of Heartbreak.” Join me as we sip the tea of self-inquiry, sit proud in our infinity and and bask in the soul-seeing light of modern, meditative astrology.
