OUT OF THE FEARSTORM, INTO THE FRIEND
ARE THESE TIMES more fearsome than others? Perhaps. But, let’s be honest: ego-on-a-countdown was born in a fearstorm and ego-on-a-countdown will die in a fearstorm. Not so, our Timeless Presence.
McVirus, aside, our predicament remains the same: the hairdo’s and happenings continue to bob and dance all around us as mind seeks happiness by manipulating the contents of awareness, while soul sips sweetness from awareness, itself.
The zodiac concurs:
Will we abide as the radiant center of this planetary merry-go-round? Or will we ride dizzy at its circumference? The stakes aren’t just personal. Each vantage point populates the world with a different kind of human.
Astrology sees personality as drifting archetypal smoke: divinely flavored incense with unique inductive powers that sacralize the space we show up in and accentuate the temple-like nature of earth.
Said another way,
This smoke was designed to blow away; the mystery is kind, come and play.
Mr. Mind, on the other hand, sees personality as a dense knot of me-stories– some likable, some not. Strong positionality about the imaginary “others” makes ego’s “passing cloud” nature feel solid, stable, real: immune, for a moment, to the microbial manslaughter drawing closer with every breath.
So which will it be: Holy smoke or storied bloke?
The question is both playful and deadly serious.
“Playful,” because naked seeing is fully vaxxed against this dream of separation. Our deepest essence remains untouched.
“Deadly serious,” because ego’s fear of being reabsorbed into the Merciful Witness drives us into compulsive, identity-hardening role play. We “ghost” our soul, seduce others to do the same and live haunted by a nameless shame.
The purpose of Astrology? To help us quit falling for the “trait bait” and strengthen our soul-seeing skills. To replace the smelly play of personality with divinely ordained “styles of awakening.” To transition us out of the fearstorm, into The Friend.
December Transit Report 2021
December begins with a breakout New Moon/Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius (visible only in Antarctica) on December 4th. Opposed Lilith and square Neptune this Moon guides us to release something that, in turn, catalyzes a spiritual breakthrough.
Lilith presses us to let go, creating a dark void through which the greater world can flow through us. Square Neptune, this Eclipse is challenging us to follow our inner guidance, even if that means releasing cherished Sagittarian beliefs and worldviews that are blocking the visceral flow of life through us.
This New Moon says,
Without knowing how it will work out, follow your guidance. Give up on “knowing” so that– two weeks later, on the Full Moon in Gemini on December 18th — you begin a new chapter of soul-seeing Gemini speech that works precisely because you are are not proving yourself “right” about being (or not being) a leader or teacher. Your concepts trigger presence because you are experientially embodying what they are pointing to, as they flush through you as a channel.
A Visceral Rebirth of Love
Venus Retrograde (Dec 19th- Jan 29th, 2022)
Every 18 months, Venus goes retrograde. Affections cool, so we can more objectively evaluate how and where we’re investing our interpersonal energy. Conjunct psychoanalytic Pluto, this “confess and undress” Venus cuts extra deep.
Humiliated by their own imperfect ways of loving, couples may be tempted to abandon self-reckoning and start “therapizing” their partners, evoking push back and power struggle. Conscious partners, on the other hand, will use this time to vulnerably reveal the dead patterns of caring they have fallen prey to and, in so doing, inspire their partner to do the same.
The result? A frightening but enlivening time of mutual confession that produces a visceral rebirth of love.
Can you ride it out within the container? Or must you say a grateful goodbye? Careful. Best not to even touch either of these questions until February when God is finished excavating.
Single? Use Pluto to help you confess what you’re afraid to face in the mirror of another, up close and personal. Consider: What if fear and insecurity– vulnerably revealed, on the spot– is the very glue that sustains healthy human coupling?
The flow of cash is also a Venusian thing. So are food supply chain issues. Best to create some kind of buffer before mid-December so survival fears don’t disrupt the excavation of the dinosaur bones buried in your heart.
Stress Test
The final exact Saturn/Uranus Square
December 24th, 2022 (Influence extends to October, 2022)
The alchemy is perfect. Saturn is direct. Uranus is retrograde. Purpose and direction is clear. The world is unpredictable, chaotic, crumbling. Remember: You asked for this socio-economic heat so you could practice turning conceptual lead into “presence gold.”
Do you have planets between 7 and 13 Taurus or 7-13 Aquarius? This identifies the two houses (departments of life) that are in tension in your particular chart.
Saturn/Uranus is about de-conditioning. Time to listen to what soul wants– not what you think you can have. Value systems and priorities are changing about how you make money, do relationship and live in community. Obey.
This is a stress test. Grow through it. After Venus stations direct at the end of January, your faith and perseverance in the face of apparent setbacks and upheaval will start to bear fruit.
Remember your safety valve: Venus, Pluto and Mercury conjunct in Capricorn forming a trine to Uranus in Taurus. This is how the pent-up square energy blows off tension, allowing us to gracefully flow. Translation: Quit lamenting what Saturn is taking away and become a powerful, guiding voice in your Uranus community. The bonds you forge now will last a lifetime.
