We all shed DNA, leaving traces of our identity everywhere we go. On the surface of everything and everyone we touch, our biological fingerprint fuses with the code of countless strangers, blurring the line between self and other.
The same is true of the 700 microbial species that make their home in our mouth, flying freely, with every exhale, into the mucosal lining of every passerby, delivering a kind of genomal French kiss.
This is hard-edged Saturn moving through the interpenetrating sign of Pisces (March 7th, 2023- May 24, 2025) extracting Oneness from the play of form.
This is God turning the solemn face of separation into a reassuring dharma talk.
September: time to sit up straight and listen.
Karma Yoga Month
Still reeling from Saturn’s sobering sway on the normally dreamy Full Moon in Pisces on August 31st, the first two weeks of September deliver a stiff prod:
Content yourself with the muted joys of selfless service or infect your friends with the leaky biome of orphaned ego.
This is karma yoga month, after all. Time to call off the search for that fabled unicorn (a mind-on-a-countdown that wants to be here) and release yourself into each sweep of the ashram floor.
Mercury Retrograde in Virgo (Aug 23- Sep 15th)
Glitch-Friendly
With Mars fresh out of Virgo, into Libra, and Venus finally direct (after a Biblical 40 day retrograde) the mood of the first two weeks of September could be characterized as “glitch-friendly.”
Yes, Mercury is retrograde until the 15th. Plans change. But a fortunate Trine to Jupiter gives these final two weeks of Mercury retrograde an unusual ease and levity that makes it easier to steer away from over-thinking and pointless Virgo worry.

The patient, nose-to-the grindstone energy begins to shift on the New Moon in Virgo on the 14th. Mercury goes direct the next day, signaling a time when stalled projects move forward with more ease as we approach the end of the month.
Particularly auspicious is the grand earth Trine from Sept 14th to the 23rd. If you get yourself grounded and organized the first half of the month, the second half should be a breeze.
Need to sign a contract? September 25th, when Jupiter Trines Mercury, is the ideal day.
The month culminates with a pivotal full Moon in Aries on the 29th.

Liberating Commitment
If you’ve been in a rut, searching for a clear path forward, then this feisty Moon is a welcome relief. New friendships, groups, business associates and projects may appear. The challenge now is to act assertively without becoming impetuous. Which people, plans and projects do you need to let go of? Which are the gems?
With Venus direct, forming its last of three exact square to Uranus, couples are pushed to nail down the agreements that produce a “liberating commitment.” Confrontations erupt then quickly subside- like a clarifying thunderstorm- leaving a tingly aftermath of aliveness and growth.
