The Beautiful Problem of Awakened Aries

AWAKENED ARIES (key phrase: “I AM”) knows what personality really is: God, fist-bumping the “imaginary others.”

This higher octave Aries part us also knows where “evil” comes from: personality on cruise control.

In our hearts, we all know personhood was never about the dense branding of ego; it’s a playful, tongue-in-cheek way of firing a synapse that doesn’t really exist. That’s right; the play of personality was meant to be an exercise in “magical realism.”

Sadly, Mr. Mind is not hip to the genre. What to do?

First, realize:

Orphaned ego feels “secure” in the throes of wanting, not-wanting and couldn’t-care-less. Craving, aversion and indifference (the stock and trade of Tinder and all it’s depressing, drive-by offspring) harden the timebound sense of self, which, otherwise, goes “poof” in the midst of everyday encounters with the Timeless Presence.

In other words:

Getting what we deeply and truly want (deathless being) pixelates the “wanting mind.” This can be disorienting, demanding a thorough redefinition of who we are.

What’s that you say? You don’t spend much time discerning which eruptions of Aries “selfing” are soul-inspired and which are insecure egoic posturing? Fine. But don’t imagine that you’re waking up. No humiliation, no revelation.

I AM Upgrades

It’s a beautiful problem, really– this wondrous, otherworldly remodel of our rickety old psyche– requiring countless, on-the-spot “I AM upgrades” that allow consciousness to flower free of egoic preconception into someone we may, or may not, recognize.

The good news: as we meditatively sensitize to the One in whom this self-and-other dance is unfolding, we expect less and less from the fleshy smoke-and-mirrors and more and more from the Ageless Innocence peering through. Indeed, we become “phenomena in the eyes of a deeper Seer.”

Paradoxically, this enables us to stand happily in front of one soul mirror for an entire lifetime– if that be God’s will for us. Why? Because compatibility becomes secondary to choosing a container in which to finally reckon with our karmic conditioning.

The choice, then, is between two inescapably problematic world views– Tinder idealism or magical realism — and Aries (March 21st- April 19th) is the perfect time of year to break free of our mystical inertia and set a feisty, “in-your-face emptiness” tone for our next trip around the Sun.

A little less shine
and a lot more basking

Fake news flesh
‘fraida innocent asking:
Bug-out bag
to the everlasting

Okay. Ready to get started? Print, post and daily consult the Aries wheel of karma at the beginning of this article. Or buy the book and cleanse yourself of the full spectrum of egoic reactivity by working with all twelve wheels over the course of a year.

Self-inquiry tools like these are designed to help us remember that what’s going on down here is embarrassingly simple: the Merciful Witness is slowly, inexorably infiltrating our orphaned ego. Numbness to this Merciful One: the mother of all depressions.
