Astrodharma Transit Report: April 2021

TAKE A RISK THEN HUNKER DOWN

MARCH WAS for re-dreaming our lives. This gestating period comes to an end on April 4th when Mercury goes into Aries. By now, we should have an action plan for April.

Then, the closer we get to the New Moon in Aries on April 12th, a window of enthusiasm and opportunity opens up. Now is the time to take a leap, initiate a new project and, if safe and warranted, travel and/or relocate.

Whatever risk or action we’re guided to take, it’s important to initiate mid-month, because during the last third of the month (17-30), as we draw nearer to the Saturn-squared Full Moon in Scorpio on the 27th and Uranus conjunction the Sun on the 30th, world events will likely intensify and our options may start to narrow again.

The collective tension of this period is due, in large part, to Pluto and Saturn temporarily squaring a pile-up of Taurus planets involving the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Uranus. Our Taurean quest for security and predictability is interrupted, once again, by a period of transformation and upheaval, urging us to hunker down and wait for the next window of opportunity to open.

April 12th New Moon in Aries
Visionary Action

Jupiter is trine Mars all month, accentuating the theme of “expansive, visionary action.” However, Mars is squaring dreamy Neptune all month, as well, signaling that we should only dive into that which is clearly “ours to do” so there’s no “buyer’s remorse” when the details of the “purchased product” fall short of our Neptunian ideal.

In addition, Pluto is exactly square Venus during this New Moon. This is a “transform or die” moment. Sound scary? Not really. Relationships (with people, places, lifestyles) can die and be swiftly reborn now. Best if we maintain our sense of agency and consciously stir the pot before Pluto starts messing with us, tempting us to play victim. Surrounded by supportive transits like these, what looks initially like a deal-breaking revelation could quickly expose limiting preconceptions that, when released, clear the way for an even deeper connection.

April 26th Full Moon in Scorpio
Naked, Fearless Presence

This is not a Moon to stumble into. Emotions escalate easily now and we best approach with humility and an intense, single-pointed focus. If people and events in the outer world rock our personal life, it is ill-advised to try and work it out with them personally. Instead, process inwardly for a few days until this touchy transit passes. If you must socialize, best to do so one-on-one in a “confess and undress” format (no back-and-forth processing) with someone you know and trust, or in the atmosphere of a group ritual or retreat.

Remember: nothing is actually happening “out there.” It’s just a particularly vivid out-picturing of ego’s tortured inner landscape. This Kali Moon wants to arouse, then break, our Taurus attachments, reducing us to a quivering mess of “yeses” to however God chooses to strip our orphaned ego down to the naked, fearless Presence at our core.

Don’t miss this shamanic portal! Plan ahead, leaving time and space to stare down whatever “silly monsters” Mr. Mind props up. The burning coals in the eyes of the person who re-emerges will more than redeem the discomfort of facing, feeling and learning to embrace our shadow.

Note for fridge

Mind-on-a-countdown is helplessly attracted to apocalyptic narratives and depressing Dystopian drama. Why? Because: ashes are as close as ego ever gets to phoenixing into God.
