The P.R.I.A. People

Believing in reincarnation may or may not evolve into Perceiving Reincarnation In Action (P.R.I.A.) and, to the extent that it does not, the wheel of incarnation is mere “food for the mind:” an ego-hardening me-story.

Here are three simple pointers to help you determine whether or not your “wheel of incarnation” perspective is staying conceptual and how you might transition into a genuine PRIA practitioner.

PRIA People see faces as portals to an untold number of other beings: born and unborn.

Ego sees fixed, time-bound personalities. PRIA people, on the other hand, see a vast, pristine Awareness at a particular stage of Self-realization traveling through a long line of incarnations.

With every word and gesture, PRIA people acknowledge that they are releasing a particular vibration or dye into other’s karmic stream and, in so doing, impacting a constellation of other beings downstream in yet-to-be-born lives and worlds they may never know and could not possibly imagine.

As the humbling implications of this multi-incarnational impact sink in, PRIA people admit what privately expressed words and gestures really are: dharma talks streamed, like a podcast, across multiple time lines.

The myth of “the casual comment” fades and our feelings about the hairdo’d microphone in front of us become immaterial compared to what is spoken into it.

PRIA People favor soul-mirroring over personality-assertion

PRIA practitioners feel the homesickness in every ego. For them, the underground loneliness and despair of living as an “mind on a countdown” is palpable. This pushes them to study the ways ego takes refuge in presence-numbing role play. Sensing this, they have a better chance of executing an artful intervention.

Over time, facilitating Self-remembering becomes more and more urgent, eclipsing material advancement and personal gratification. Some PRIA people become semi-monastic– replacing the desire to “get things” from the “imaginary others” with a full-time career in soul-mirroring and self-inquiry.

Simply put, PRIA people “mirror first” and establish a particular form of relationship (friend, lover, business partner) later.

PRIA People are acutely sensitive to what is “karmically given” vs. egoically contrived.

PRIA people experience seasons of shame and repentance. The more cleanly they show up as a soul-mirror, the greater is the contrast to how self-absorbed they were in the past.

The more they set personal agenda aside, in favor of the true Tao of the relationship in front of them, the more they see how many of their past relationships were contrived and maintained by “wanting mind” vs. willed into being by the shepherding Presence.

Over time, these bouts of healthy regret pay off as PRIA people become acutely sensitive to what is “karmically given” vs. what is egoically desired.
