Astrodharma Transit Update: December 2018

CONCEPTS POINT; PRESENCE ARRIVES

WHY DID WE CHOOSE to be born in this age of post-truth, where everyone is bombarded with sophisticated disinformation campaigns, fake news and staged psy-ops? Simple: so our truth-parched psyches would dive, with renewed vigor, into the timeless wisdom traditions and the supremely un-manipulatable meanings born of meditative self-inquiry.

In the absence of un-skewed reporting, mind reaches for a more trusty take on reality: the overarching Sagittarian philosophies and archetypal patterns of truth that serve as stepping stones to the cliff edge of thought.

I know. The world is stuffed with spiritual egos and we don’t need more of them. Agreed! Real Sagittarian truth-tellers, however, pause regularly to dissolve “the knower,” allowing spontaneous, vulnerable, presence-arousing self-inquiry to bubble up from the bewildering vastness of who they are. It needn’t be sober! In fact, philosophy-clown Jupiter loves to play tag with empathic Neptune. Not sure how to blend heartbreak with playfulness? No problem. 2019 will fix that.

Jupiter Square Neptune: Adore their blind spot!

Exact on Jan 13th, Jun 16th, Sept 21st, this square challenges us to relax into the perfection of the divine play without losing the shrewdness needed to reckon with our own and other’s ego. The trick: keep one eye on folk’s undying, eternal essence and the other eye on their conditioned me-story hype. That’s called full spectrum seeing. Again, it’s both hilarious (Jupiter) and heartbreaking (Neptune). Our days become littered with confusing laugh-cries. This is not a problem! This is God training us to hang out in the deliciously vast, yet grounded, space of who we are: mad enough to be mortal, sane enough to disappear. Anything less makes us blind to the perfect-yet-sleepy nature of the soul in front of us and that, my friends, is called “empathic failure.” Got a guru? Adore their blind spot!

Wonder-stoking Interventions

Stuck in a ego-hardening conversation? Try these wonder-stoking interventions:

1. Can we stop and enjoy God for a minute?

2. I notice that I feel closest to you when we wonder, out loud, together.

3) Opinions point; presence arrives. (Said with a playfully inviting smile.)

Hang in there, couples!

Venus (now direct) continues its opposition to Uranus until Dec 15th. Hang in there, couples! After one more exact opposition on December 1st, this 3 1/2 month love-cooling, sovereignty-building season comes to an end. For those relationships that God has deemed purpose-driven enough to survive, Venus leaves a legacy of enlivening, updated agreements, reciprocal respect and a feeling of being fully “chosen.” (Venus Sextile Saturn, trine Neptune).

Dec 7th New Moon in Sag: Mind on a Countdown

Conjunct Jupiter and square Mars/Neptune, this New Moon is the perfect time to sit Neptune quiet in a public place, whilst Sag-studying the busy barter of me-stories: the thriving economy of the collective ego. Notice how nervously minds patch together their ramshackle identities by strutting field-tested charisma and proudly put-together points of view as if they were existential fact. Then repeat your mantra:

This is mind on a countdown.

Depressed about all the heads lost in glowing screens and the normalized alienation? Consider:

Attention was lost in the screen of ego ages before it turned into a cell phone. These are not exceptional times and I am not famously oppressed for living in them.

Before leaving, inwardly thank these unwitting emissaries of the divine for mirroring your identity-clinging habits of mind and renew your vow to keep your head up, out of your me-story screen.

Dec 22nd Full Moon in Cancer: Put Your Soul on Stage

Soul callings want more public expression now. Positively aspected to habit-breaking Uranus, this Full Moon takes place during the darkest night of the year in the northern hemisphere (Winter solstice). Is your work illumined by your heart? If not, now is the ideal time to let dead trajectories “go dark” so you can re-dream your career (Sun trine Neptune) and pivot into a fresh vision of work that hits the ground running in 2019 when Mars moves from dreamy Pisces into assertive Aries on New Year’s Eve.

Future-Free New Years Resolutions

Leery of New Year’s resolutions? Me too. Future events are less interesting than feeling into the One who orchestrates them. On that note, notice which of these sign-specific self-inquiries most rattles your me-story cage. Post it. Let it work on you. No telling what creative fire might be unleashed.

1. Aries: What watches the impulse to fear forward? Is presence daring or timid?

2. Taurus: What watches the desire for steady ground? Is presence solid or crumbling?

3. Gemini: What studies shifting attention? Is presence stimulated or bored?

4. Cancer: What witnesses the need to give comfort? Does presence care or not care?

5. Leo: What watches confidence and the urge to lead? Is presence average or exceptional?

6. Virgo: What watches the urge to edit and improve? Is presence flawed or perfect?

7. Libra: What watches the impulse to peace-keep? Is presence polite or tactless?

8. Scorpio: What watches the urge to see shadow? Is presence deep or superficial?

9. Sagittarius: What notices ownership of belief? Is presence smart or simple-minded?

10. Capricorn: What sees status come and go? Can presence fail or succeed?

11. Aquarius: What watches the need for freedom and independence? Is presence bound or unencumbered?

12. Pisces: What watches the urge to merge? Does presence commiserate or turn away?
