Astrodharma Transit Report: July 2018

INTERPERSONAL COLONIC

WELCOME TO ECLIPSE season (July 2-Aug 26) – a time to break free of dead trajectories and pivot into a new life. Something wants to “go dark” so you can start anew. What are you willing to give up in order to move into a new chapter of your life?

July 12th Solar Eclipse:
Graceful, no-turning-back changes in work and relationship

When the Sun opposes a Moon/Pluto conjunction in Cancer, a question stirs in the subconscious:

Is this relationship a safe container- a soul mirror in which I can feel myself free of personal wounds and return to my true position as awareness, itself?

Now is the ideal time to find out. Why? Because two flowing, feminine grand trines (earth & water) overlap to create a beautiful 5 pointed star during this otherwise intimidating eclipse. This allows gnarly shadow eruptions to shift gracefully into deeper commitment- or a fluid, faith-in-life ending.

Not sure what level of commitment is appropriate in your work or relationship? No more straddling. July is the time to pour out that tepid cup of tea and brew up something hot and spicy.

Interpersonal Colonic

Think of this Solar eclipse as an interpersonal colonic. Still longing for Cancer coziness? Sorry, Pluto has pushed a tube up both of your buts and the pressure is starting to build. Yes, you could get off the table, but it would be messy and embarrassing. Why not say “yes” to the nauseous gurgling, gush free of unconfessed visceral truths, then meet together in the lobby afterwards and see what kind of clear-thinking chemistry shows up between you?

July 27th Total Lunar Eclipse:
The Tinderbox

This eclipse is a tinderbox. Why? Because Mars conjunct the Moon and Uranus square the Sun/Moon opposition expose shadow with urgency and impatience. In addition, the Mars in Aquarius trigger is moving backwards (retrograde). Individual and collective anger tends to turn inward, fester, then explode into unconscious projection. Collectively, this can show up as violent protest and war. On a personal level: brute confrontation.

Your mission: see the upheaval as a blip in a long chain of soul-evolving lifetimes. Use the Jupiter/Neptune Trine to maintain a larger, compassionate perspective and use the Saturn/Uranus Trine to stay zen in the midst of crisis. From this non-reactive, big-picture perspective, you may be able to convert the adversarial sense of injustice (yours or theirs) into a constructive plan of action that addresses the needs of both parties.

Mercury will be retrograde, however, so convincing anyone to change their heated point of view is highly unlikely. Better to agree with the need for no-turning-back change and speak only the words that bubble up from humble introspection. Above all, stay away from right and wrong and recognize that it sometimes takes a pent-up, irrational jab to topple an oppressive regime of life. When a being (or group of beings) feels vulnerable to backsliding into some miserably secure lifestyle, they’re A-okay with a bit of blood-letting to achieve an irreversible reset. No, this is not “adolescent;” this is doing what it takes to shatter a dead pattern in one’s life. Sustainable solutions come later.

Maybe means No?

The question you may be avoiding: Is giving “space and freedom” an avoidance of a final break? If so, this eclipse favors an inelegant ending over the continuation of energy-draining confusion. Either way, use the Mercury retrograde in Leo period (July 26-Aug 19) to let the dust settle as you sink deeper into your “fullness of Being” and its outward Leonine posture: “Divine Pride.” There. Now you can fully cooperate with Mercury Retrograde in Leo by spending the next three weeks strategizing your way into a more heart-honoring and wisely loving life.
