MARCH was a mystic compost heap– funky and relentlessly self-reckoning. Sorry, says Pisces, but we don’t wake up from the dream of separation until we’re sufficiently disillusioned by it.
It’s rare for Pisces to be this blunt:
There are no people. Just paranormal gazes engaged in concept-worship. “Samsara sergeants” releasing verbal bomblettes that kill and maim self-inquiry. Why have the screens taken over? Because the path of naked seeing runs directly through a mine field of heartbreak.
The good news: on April 6th Mercury retrograde in Pisces goes direct. The fog bank begins to thin and a faint contour of soul-direction begins to take shape.
Meanwhile, Venus Retrograde in Pisces continues to dissolve old, outgrown patterns in relationship until the April 12th Full Moon in Libra when Venus, too, goes goes direct. At last! Time to grow some edges and emerge from the shadows.
Mars in Leo!
On April 18th, Mars moves (happily) out of Cancer into the sign of Leo. All planets will now be moving direct until May 4th, delivering creative insights into who we are now and where we’re going.
Have you noticed how trendy it is to say, “It is what it is?” That’s drive-by dharma: a powerful Pisces pointer compressed into a punchy, matter-of-fact comment. The message is clear:
I’m not a spiritual teacher; I’m just stating the obvious.

Can you feel it? April is prodding us to embody and. understand the Aries Styles of Awakening. How?
Contemplate this:
Lose your arrogance too soon and you replace it with vanity.
New Foundations
The month kicks off with some golden opportunity Trines and Sextiles: Saturn sextile Uranus, Mars trine Saturn and Mars sextile Uranus. Think: innovative restructuring and the building of new foundations for the future.
It’s part of a series of action-oriented transits from April 1st through the 24th when Mars takes turns Trining Saturn, Venus, Mercury and Neptune.
The problem is, these otherwise positive Mars Trines are likely driven by moldly, pent-up desires left over from March. This makes it easy to confuse assertiveness with compulsiveness and control: a challenge exacerbated by the stand-off between Mars and Pluto later in the month.
Passionate commitment or egoic control?
Mars and Pluto are opposed and drawn into a series of tense squares for seven days from April 23rd through the 29th. This is a time to de-escalate outward confrontations whilst, at the same time, gathering our resources to lead and create.
Venus conjuncts Saturn on the 24th. With Mercury and Venus now direct, reevaluation time is officially over. Time to take a stand for what we do and don’t want in relationship: renegotiate and repair, or bid a grateful goodbye.
On April 26th, Mars will exactly oppose Pluto. Then, on April 27th, this Mars/Pluto opposition will square the New Moon in Taurus. The temperature of the world is likely to get red hot now. Uranus conjunct Algol (the “demon star”) signals violent eruption.

One day, a mate (or a room cleaner) will screech at the sight of us crumpled in a corner with a face perfectly emptied of me-stories. Why wait?
This earthy Sun/Moon conjunction in the sign of Taurus is the time to beat Aries swords into Taurus plowshares and do some serious manifesting. Square to the Mars/Pluto opposition, we are grounded and determined, but vulnerable to obsession and bullheadedness. Perhaps if we get our physical hands dirty, we can minimize the dirty work required interpersonally.
May the dramas of the pale blue dot lose their magnetism, as we forgive the dream and, with it, the caterpillar-ego that must turn to goo before assuming the shape of a butterfly.
