Astrodharma Transit Report: May 2023

MAY CONTINUES the pensive pairing of two eclipses with Mercury retrograde.

The polarity at play is Taurus/Scorpio.

We are challenging ourselves to be “in the body, on the earth, as it is” in the midst of disorienting upheaval and change. Meanwhile, a portal is opening: the mystic “bank” of the senses. Will we savor our embodied “richness?”

I know. It’s a war zone out there. Everybody is scurrying around looking for steady ground and the eclipse-o-grade is playing hard ass: How bad do you want it?

No matter. Taurus and Scorpio are up for the challenge and they sure as hell know how to rototill the psyche:

Who, exactly, signed up for this eerie animal sensing adventure? demands Taurus, while Scorpio hisses in the shadows: Die before you die! Die before you die! Don’t miss this one-two punch!

The month begins with a doozy:

The May 5th Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio

The Comfort Zones We’ve Outgrown

Here’s some juicy themes to feel into. Powerful time to get a reading to guide you deeper.

1) Passionately embody a buried emotional truth.

2) Release outlived commitments in work and relationship.

3) Ask: “Am I investing in the lifestyle I truly value, or just surviving?”

4) Tear down and rebuild muscle, burn psychological “fat,” and commit to a passionately chosen life.

5) Confess blind spots in the way you assert authority and personal power

6) Transform sugar-spike sexual tension into relaxed, sustainable intimacy

7) Explore somatic therapies and Tantric practices

This Lunar eclipse reveals messy, primal and wildly empowering revelations. Think of it as a face-screwing truth serum for partners in need of more intimacy-producing rawness in their relationship.

(Particularly face-screwing for those who have personal planets between 13-15 degrees in fixed signs).

This is not an eclipse to trifle with. You’re tempting fate by staying out late on this eerie eve or traveling naively through dangerous places.

Complicating the eclipse is Mercury retrograde in the sign of Taurus. For many, this will be a time to simplify and retreat, channeling feelings into laser-focused creative expression and (providing adequate trust has been built) sexy ego-death.

Above all, resist the temptation to verbally process during this eclipse-o-grade. A seemingly innocent comment can- and often does- cut straight to the bone, requiring a looong time to heal.

Instead, allow the searing beauty of this Pat Metheney song to pull you into some ego-purging trance dance.

Or burn off your festering angst (and earn a full night’s sleep) with a long, ego-reckoning hike.

Or sneak out into the night to get some gut guidance via a shamanic ritual. Here’s an incantation to get your started:

How fertile Your darkness, deep smoldering Opal!

?Sting me with vision, wild and noble!

Jupiter in Taurus

On May 16th, truth-loving Jupiter enters Taurus, urging us to continue building on what we already have. During this time, vulnerable expressions of gratitude are downright marriage-saving. Suddenly, all teachings converge into one:

Complacency is the mother of all misery.

The following day, truthy Jupiter squares obsessive Pluto for the rest of the month. Answer brutal truths with a gentle nonsequitur:

How blessed we are by this pause between crises.

This is Taurus providing moment-savoring ground for minds ravaged by Scorpio upheaval. True, they may never admit their trauma. No problem. You remember for them.

Is not our entire life a “pause between crises?”

The Taurus/Scorpio Polarity

The Scorpio/Taurus polarity has shown up to teach us how to stay grateful and present in the face of shadow. Yes, the regime wants you uninformed, semi-lobotomized and fully integrated into a quasi-retarded population. The answer, however, is not to become so obsessed with evil and the next real or imagined Psy-Op that we fail to relax into the fullness of Being, oblivious to the Divine Hand gently guiding us through the play of form.

On May 14th, Mercury retrograde goes direct in Taurus. A few days later, on May 19th, the New Moon in Taurus signals the birth of a new cycle of growth followed by Mars moving out of cautious Cancer into confident Leo on the 20th. Translation: Mid-month, things start to move forward with less vexation and more flow.

Soon, on May 21st, the Sun will enter the pollen-pouncing sign of the hummingbird: Gemini. In the mean time, get settled, plant a garden, stock up the pantry and savor the conspiracy-free realm of your here/now senses.
