Astrodharma Transit Report: March 2023

The Renaissance of Emptiness

IT TAKES “contemplative guts” to pass the test of March; to allow the great Aries-to-Pisces wheel of incarnation to grind to a halt and spend an extended period of time on retreat; to duck out of the world and dive into some serious existential self-reckoning, then stand up again into a mystically refreshed pole of flesh.

This is the course-correcting power of the March 20th Equinox: God’s annual prod to return us to the un-dizzied center of the wheel of incarnation. Don’t miss it.

As we approach the equinox and the astrological beginning of the year on March 20th, the simultaneous New Moon in Aries doubly emphasizes the theme of new beginnings. What we initiate now will bear significant fruit later this year.

March is pivotal and “zeitgeisty” for other reasons as well. Due to both Saturn and Pluto changing signs this month, the defining spirit or mood of our time is shifting.

On March 7th, Saturn moves out of Aquarius into the sign of Pisces for more than two years. Then, on March 23rd, Pluto moves out of Capricorn into Aquarius for 21 years.

The meaning of Saturn in Pisces: March 7, 2023- May 24, 2025

How will Saturn’s two year passage in the sign of Pisces feel down here on the ground? The answer is best earned through self-inquiry. Here’s four achetypally informed questions to get you started.

Keep in mind that mid to late March is littered with challenging Neptune aspects. This makes the four inquiries listed below all the more timely and worthwhile.

1. As the old rules crumble and the maps we formerly used to navigate our world no longer apply, will we pray for a new vision of our lives and open our hearts to the unknown? Or will we descend into darkness and despair as our reasonable, time-bound model of sanity is ripped away from us?

2. Will the heightened chaos and fear of “orphaned ego on a countdown” awaken a redemptive “lifetimes perspective” that inspires us to continue offering our soul-mirroring service? Or will we refuse to face the hollow victories of egoic life and contract into self-centered survivalism?

3. Will our spirit be crushed by a sea of manipulative, deceptive data or will we seize the narrative, measure our exposure to the psyop and practice the art of meditative relating, developing the rock-like faith of the spiritual elder?

4. In short, will our faith undergo a restructuring or a death?

The meaning of Pluto in Aquarius: March 23, 2023- Jan 19, 2044

Like it or not, the Aquarian structure of society is going through an intensified death and rebirth process and Saturn in Pisces, it appears, was sent, like a seductive scout, to soften and loosen our investment in the old order so we could resist the temptation to descend into dark reactivity as Pluto takes down earth’s corrupt, top-down societies.

Bottom line: Whoever “keeps the faith” during the next two years of calculated confusion will emerge with the vision and equanimity needed to reshape the the human footprint on the planet.

Keeping the faith

How to keep the faith amidst so much apparently meaningless suffering and loss? Perhaps by remembering that the American constitution (still considered the pinnacle of democracy) was written when Pluto was in Aquarius. Think of the next twenty years as the prelude to the democratization of the planet.

No planetary combination is better equipped than Pluto in Aquarius to demolish this top-heavy society- to shake us free of the pathetic, immortality-grasping dream of Transhumanism and rebuild an enlightened Aquarian infrastructure that serves the needs of everyone.

It will take the Rumi-like madness of Neptune to carry us through the next two years, but those who pass the test will become the Saturn in Pisces elders needed to guide souls through Pluto’s decades-long purge.

What might the world look like in 21 years?

Pluto rules death and rebirth– the extremes of dark and light. So it’s not unrealistic to predict the birth of an extreme light on the other side of these dark decades.

Think of it as the “Renaissance of Emptiness:” a world where the free floating anxiety of mind-on-a-countdown becomes so nakedly seen, so absolutely exhausted and untenable that vast numbers of egos rest back into the Deathless Being gazing out from their eyes and the stories that once divided nations dissolve into a collective call to rise and fall in the play of God’s dream.

Immersed in this dreamscape, there is no escape from the broken heart of compassion.

Too fantastically optimistic for you? I understand. But wouldn’t you have been equally skeptical had I predicted the events that have unfolded over the last 2 1/2 years?

We call in Pluto to show us what false power looks like so we can embody and elevate true soul-seeing power. Who will trust in the faraway light at the end of this tunnel?

Thou Christ are the sublime Sun-Being
with us always, ever-seeing.
From Thee, oh Lord, I could not hide
for in Thy heart I do abide.
