One Problem, One Solution
On the surface, November looks formidable, tense, divisive. Underneath, it shimmers with innocent, existential curiosity:
Is time erasing your sentience?
Even now, we answer with posture, mood and breath.
Are you an orphaned ego on a countdown? Or a psyche of cosmic dimensions meditatively managing the “wound-gifts” embedded into your karmically inherited body-mind?
Even now, “countdown fear” flickers with Deathless Being.
What does all this have to do do with November? Everything.
Festering Time
Yes, the shifts between these two world views is subtle, but the impact they have on our life and relationships is profound. During viscerally intense, reactivity-prone month’s like this one, the failure to quickly and consciously pivot out of time-ravaged animality into the mercy-soaked realm of Deathless Being can give minor disagreements the “festering time” they need to grow into entrenched, hard-to-heal hurts. Still parading personhood? Look out. You’re headed straight into intimidating power struggle.
On the positive side, the “high stakes” nature of the month provides the motivation to master our energetic messaging. To do this effectively, we may need to socially slow down and decomplicate our lives. The world, after all, is in dire need of our counterbalancing equanimity. Those lacking the skills to self-process may attempt to lure us into processing with them. Don’t. Redirect them to a third party and circle back after the 24th when the Sun and Mercury have moved out of Scorpio into panoramically reasonable Sagittarius.
Are you baffled by the life of the monk? November could cure you of that. It takes a heroic level of stillness and intuitive expertise to accurately biopsy the paradigm we’re allowing to rule over us. Our presence-killing habits of mind: deeply entrenched and relentlessly humbling.
As any good monk knows,
Most of what passes for “self-confidence” is a terrified shrinking-away from boundless being; mystical paranoia turned into macho performance art.
One Problem. One Solution.
November asks,
What if our nervous system was designed to perceive “one problem, one solution,” and dishing any more than that onto our perceptual plate so overwhelms us that we either space-out or override into restless automaton?
What if our most lasting and meaningful sense of purpose is derived from learning to pivot, over and over, on the spot, from automated ego (one problem) to soul-seeing presence (one solution)?
What if the agenda behind most grandiose, “difference-making” ambition is to distract ourselves from our pedestrian trauma, allowing us to sidestep the healthy humiliation that arises during meditation, prayer and ego-cornering counsel?
November pushes us to get real:
Do you have the birth chart and soul-maturity to manage complicated, large scale projects within the paradigm of the Merciful Witness? Or, do you achieve impressive public results by sacrificing your meditative fullness of Being “off stage?
November Overview
The month kicks off with Mercury square Pluto on Nov 2nd, prompting revelations, scandals and expose’s. Will the mainstream media report any of this? Unlikely. Nonetheless, Mars has just moved into Scorpio, sprinkling the whole month with dark, disruptive disclosures.
The New Moon in Taurus on November 4th exactly opposes Uranus and is co-present with combative Mars, planting the seeds of future protest and social unrest that will likely erupt later in the month closer to the Full Moon in Taurus. Potential areas of destabilization? All Taurus-ruled phenomenon: money, food and overall comfort and security.
On a personal level, these first few days of November (1-6) are best spent meditatively “muscling-up” for the stressful mid-month period (7-23) where the bulk of the planetary tension takes place: most notably, the tension-building Mars/Saturn square (exact on the 11th) and the explosive Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on Nov 19th, which takes place during a combustive Mercury/Mars opposition.
The last seven days (25-31st) are colored by Jupiter, allowing us to psychologically digest what just happened. With Sun and Mercury now in Sagittarius our faith in the future is now reignited so we can set clear, updated intentions for the Total Solar Eclipse/ New Moon on December 4th.
Nov 7-23: The Meltdown
Mercury in Scorpio conjuncts Mars on Nov 10th and squares Saturn. Then on Nov 11th, Mars squares Saturn as well. The collective mood is frustrated, pent-up, spiteful. Then on Nov 13th, when Mercury opposes Uranus, surprising findings may cause smoldering emotions to go hot. On Nov 17th, Mars opposes Uranus and the Moon. Think: restless, angry confrontation.
This energy continues to build until the Lunar eclipse/Full Moon in Taurus arriving on the 19th. Resist the temptation to believe any story about the events of this time. Instead, take a step back, release collective stress from your body and tune in to the Merciful Witness:
Can you bear the silence that you are?
Be crowned by the silent space that floats our blue marble.
Trust life and wait to pass judgment (or make future plans) until things settle down after the 25th.
Note for fridge:
Merciful Witness! Hill we die on!
Train our brains to be with you, bright.
Blow the lid off worldly concern, then turn
this hairdo’d death camp into a balloon of light!
