All Quivers Beneath Your Silent Immensity
To crack the code of September, we will need to narrate the soul’s journey from Leo to Virgo to Libra, and savor it as a chivalrous love story.
Virgo, it turns out, is an otherworldly paramedic.
Swooping in like a caped superhero, Virgo rescued the previous sign, Leo, who made the soul-numbing mistake of claiming ownership of his confidence, charisma and leadership– powers on loan from God.
By injecting Leo with a powerful otherworldly serum (humility, selfless service and a work ethic untethered to recognition and applause) Virgo purified Leo’s contaminated lifeblood, transforming his strutty stage presence into something radiant and inspiring.
Understandably, Virgo’s passion for purity became over-zealous. Conscientious helping devolved into invasive critique. Commitment to order and efficiency metastasized into tyrannical perfectionism. So God sent an angel called “Libra” to remind needle-happy Virgo that– minus communion with The Unimprovable– order, ethics and healthy daily routine are sterile role play.
To become a wise lover, we need a place to make mistakes– to love foolishly, sloppily, sentimentally. Indeed, without a Libran soul-mirror, consciousness would have no one on whom to project its shadow, and no chance to re-own it. How else could we return to our true position as the Merciful Witness?
To summarize:
1) In order to effectively lead– radiating life, love and laughter (Leo)
2) we need healthy, ego-humbling routines and practices (Virgo)
3) that polish our soul-mirror for the awakening of others. (Libra)
September Transits
The first few days of September (1-5) are a crash course in Taoism. Mars opposition Neptune taunts and teases, “Yea, you get stuff done. So what? Can you hone in on the sweet spot between toxic passivity and ego strutting?”
September 6th New Moon in Virgo
Wide-eyed, capable and ready-for-work, this New Moon equips us with everything we need to ground, organize and initiate. With half the zodiac now in earth signs and an abundance of outer planet trines to Mars, Mercury and Venus, this is a stellar time to define goals and push-off into directions that will keep us steady, disciplined and focused through the upcoming Mercury retrograde in Libra (Sep 27- Oct 18).
Early September is also a good time to begin a new curriculum of study. Why? Again, because it’s strategic. The draconian lockdowns and rebellion against the passports (a platform on which to build the Chinese social credit system?) is likely to intensify during the upcoming Scorpio eclipse season (Nov/Dec) and the resources and supply lines that we take for granted now may not be available once we receive the final jolt of the third exact Saturn/Uranus square on December 24th. Now is the time to stock up our spiritual “pantry” and secure steady access to teachers and teachings that can help make meaning out of all this suffering.
September 20th Full Moon in Pisces
The Lock Down we’re Really Upset About
Reactivity is a sign of impotence. It showers darkness with darkness. The compassionate intensity of this Full Moon offers a luminous alternative.
Typically, the Full Moon is Pisces is a gentle, otherworldly, even mystical time. In favorable aspect to shadow-hound Pluto, this Moon in Pisces has a more rugged, ego-scouring quality. Great time to demonstrate compassion for another’s pain, practice hypnotherapy, do drug recovery work or release damned-up, suppressed emotions and memories via Breathwork.
During this Full Moon, and for the final 10 days of the month (20-30th) Mercury will be square Pluto. As we move closer to retrograde on the 27th, Mercury provides the deep mental focus needed for writing, research and study.
It also prods us to inquire: “What is the most empowered response to a world drifting into dystopian darkness?” In the heat of perceived injustice, it pushes us to pause and ask,
Is Awareness having a personality right now?
Only by learning to see the “dark collective” as an outpicturing of forces of dark and light wrestling within us, can we replace reactivity with mercy.
The Lock Down We’re Really Upset About
Identity is a collection of habitual preconceptions; a logjam of me-stories that has become so normalized that any serious attempt to live a free-flowing life filled with storyless presence, looks pitifully regressive and insanely self-absorbed; a premature exit and betrayal of the family of man that will render us freakishly different and unemployable.
This is the lock down we’re really upset about.
Why are we so reticent to release preconception? Because it would reveal how naked and orphaned we feel, how little trust we have in a sentient safety net, a greater Being that includes and transcends who we think we are: a deathless Being that is, even now, having a personality.
Because the scenery of broken promises, has not yet broken our hearts enough to stop us from grabbing at it. Because we’re too scared to be squeezed out through the birth canal of now into the psyche of cosmic dimensions.
One day, every one of us will see it: attachment to preconception is the very essence of stress and suffering. Life will become immensely simple: a moment-to-moment choice between preconception and beginner’s mind.
Finally, we will become sensitive and present enough to attend to the underlying paradigmatic choice that turns the wheel of karma. How fortunate we are to bask in the ego-dissolving poise of this Full Moon. May it wash every one of us free of restless selfing.
