Astrodharma Transit Report: February 2019

FEBRUARY CONTINUES to give a green light to January’s new year starts (all planets direct until Mercury retro on March 6th). We’ll need this productive momentum to carry us through the first week’s Mars/Pluto square when passionate commitment can- without a grounded, tension-relieving project- slip into obsessive willfulness, resulting in power struggles.

Now is the time to prepare for the otherworldly Mercury Retrograde in Pisces (March 6-28) which casts its inward-leaning shadow over the entire month of March. Get your ducks in a row now so you can duck into some place with an ashram-like vibe that reignites your “space with a face” and reincarnates you into a more soul-honoring life in April.

The February 4th New moon in Aquarius favors a entirely new structure or base of operations. Where is home? Wherever you come alive to a vision that generously overflows you.

No friend of paradigm paralysis, this zappy, electric New Moon also has the power to jumpstart a sublime Aquarian realization: the entire planet is bathed in a wi-fi field (commonly referred to as “god”) and the only healthy reason to busy ourselves with things like astrology is to “get the password.”

Why is ego so dead set on turning the entire planet into an airport body scanner? Because it’s the closest thing to “comforting, connecting Omnipresence” that it can imagine. So great is our yearning to feel safe at home in the heart of God.

The big news this month: Chiron moving from Pisces into Aries on Feb 18th, one day before the full Moon in Virgo. Why would “the wounded healer” kick off his 8-year stint in the sign of Aries at such a luminous, earthbound moment? Perhaps to hint at the trigger he will use (our chaotically unraveling biosphere?) to reactivate our repentant Virgo conscience and bring our orphaned ego to its knees.

Makes sense, right? The voluntary human extinction movement (meditation) had limited takers, so Mother Nature’s taking a more menacing, literal approach.

When you think of Chiron in Aries, imagine the chiseled, steely-eyed face of Clint Eastwood (ruling planet in Aries). We may bristle at his tough love approach to healing, but it’s hard to deny that the world is aching for some kind of in-your-face Aries intervention. Our best crack at earning more time on this soul-evolving stage set? Assume the inner (if not outer) shape of prostration and break like a dry, dead twig under the wheel of time. Then step back onto the wheel and let your dream-loving “space with a face” have its way with your day!
