EARNING YOUR FAITH-IN-LIFE DIPLOMA
THE FIRST FIVE DAYS of June are drenched with interpersonal ease. Average unions will experience an uncommon level of “getting along.” More conscious couplings will spiral into divine romance.
It’s tempting to get existentially lazy during a grand water trine between Venus, Jupiter and Neptune. Why inquire deeper into what is already so sublime? Because the accompanying Mercury/Mars trine presents a rare opportunity to confront normally thorny issues in a spirit of tenderness and understanding.
Think of it as an investment. The more you mix edgy levels of self-revealing into the romantic spell, the less heavy will be the emotional fallout when impartially confessed feelings are brought into stark relief during the Full Moon in Capricorn (conjunct Saturn) on the 28th.
What’s Your Piranha Question?
Ready to extend this grace period into the rest of the month? Take advantage of the second, more studious, Mercury/Jupiter/Neptune grand water trine (June 18-24).
Like steam rising from a whistling kettle, heartfelt Neptunian surrender and devotion wants to erupt from the contemplation of spiritual truth. Not sure which dharmic pot to boil? No need to reach for your go-to spiritual tome. Gem knows better than any other archetype that a heart-humbling question tailored to our individual ego is far more illuminating than a one-size-fits-all absolute. Here’s a few Gems to get you started:
1) How many more days of scenery-devouring hunger for “the next, the new, the different” before I put down roots in the ground of being?
2) How many more spins of the relationship roulette wheel will it take before I admit how underwhelmed I am by all archetypally enslaved personalities, and learn to commune steadily with deathless Being in everyone?
Of course, there’s no conceptual answer to this kind of question. The point is to find your ego-killing “piranha question:” The one that cripples your automation and activates your field-sensing presence.
Frostier Than a Celibate Polar Bear
The June 28th Full Moon in Capricorn
Next comes the Full Moon in Capricorn on the 28th. Conjunct taskmaster, Saturn, this Moon is dying to know how much we embodied and stabilized Neptune’s spoon-fed grace.
Seems we’re determined to graduate from June with a Faith-in-Life diploma!
So dead set are we to become a shining beacon for those in the throes of meaningless suffering (everyone!) we asked Saturn to end the month with a final exam. How will we score? Depends on how much “Shepherding Presence momentum” we head into this faith-testy full Moon with. Remember: strategy is sexy to the Lord of Time and He gets frostier than a celibate polar bear when souls succumb to lazy, last-minute cramming.
I know. Tests make you nervous. Good news: Just before the exam, Mars retrograde administers a shot of “slow down and inquire” into our Robosapien minds. Even more grace!
Assertive Introspection
Mars Retrograde: June 26th- Aug 27th
What happens when the planet of gutsy forward movement appears to backpedal? Good things: Pushy, world-saving activity instantly bites us in the but until we attune to the greater will of what is.
Got coffee in your veins? No problem. Channel this outward, instigating energy into being assertively introspective. Pause to ask: what inner state do I hope to light-up by accomplishing this outer goal? Then drop into that state now, before you act. Still feel a movement to act? No problem. Doors will likely fly open for you since you will move with ease of the presence-savouring do-er.
Prone to apathy and procrastination? Mars retro flashes a knowing smile, but encourages you to take your suspicion of doing to the next level. How? By inquiring into what “productive action” really means. What if the primary purpose of “doing” is simply to ground and un-clutter our psyche so we can better attune to the Tao of each moment? What if all this #Me Too anger is an outpicturing of how we secretly feel about ourselves for prematurely pushing our me-stories into the space in front of us? In this context, men and woman engage in equal amounts of rape.
Don’t squander this Mars transit! Slow down and notice that most action is an identity-grab. We’re dramatizing our idea about who we are. Ick!
Bottom line: Mars retro in the impersonal, consciousness-incandescing sign of Aquarius is a brilliant Buddhist transit. If the path isn’t the destination, it’s probably some permutation of lower octave Gemini “wave-jumping in search of wetness.”
Note for fridge:
May we complete the ritual that birth began when it smeared us in the kerosene of not knowing!
