May is a month to savor our “non-toothache.”
To reignite our forgotten enthusiasm for this incarnation and remember: we could be– but are not- stuck in some static bardo.
No, not us. We’re one of the lucky ones, outfitted with a fleshy lampshade and a mandate to incandesce. To welcome-in the sense of time eating us alive as a catalyst for deathless Being; a chance to shine eternity-with-eyes on our ego allies as we pray to love wise and know earth a stage for “radiant demise.”
Admit it: grandiose purpose is often a distraction from saving the word, one gaze at a time.
Time for a Pivot
Think of May as an off-ramp from the hot mess of March/April sliding us into June: a bright and blessed interlude where souls get to strengthen their faith-in-life muscle before setting sail, once again, into the choppy, Mercury retrograde seas of July.
The question on the table:
How decisively will you pivot out of April’s collective angst into the increasingly restorative months of May and June?
Stinging Accurately
To hurtable humanness, war is a trauma-factory, benefiting no one. To the Merciful Witness, war is a particularly stingy kind of salt poured onto the wound of impermanence that pushes us to find out what, exactly, was stinging before the war and what will continue stinging afterwards so we can finally “sting accurately.”
What do the truth-stung understand? Try this:
Duality carries with it the inescapable friction of differences. Where there is otherness, there is war.
Peace isn’t peaceful; it stabs needles of compassion into the voodoo doll of separation. It’s a duality-killer!
What, then, does it mean to be an “anti-war activist?”
See restless eyes searching for a meditative off-ramp from the war called “self and other.”

Ambition Stalling?
On May 17th Mercury enters Gemini then conjuncts Uranus on the 18th signaling sudden flashes of insight and creative thinking. From this point forward, any ambition-stalling worries brought about by the war want to fade in favor of freedom, change and renewal. Time to breath new life into relationship, open to new love and live life fully before our approaching aneurysm.
On May 26th Mars squares Pluto and the Sun trines Pluto. Then Venus squares Saturn on 29th. It’s a few days of reckoning for relationships. Hang in there. Brighter days are just around the corner.

Prayerful self-promotion
On May 31st, a second Full Moon encourages us to reach out beyond our usual habitats and routines to share our perspective, accomplishments and emerging expertise. Harmoniously aspected by Pluto and Saturn, this Blue Moon favors self-promotion and reality-based action.
A funny thing happens when we give thanks out loud for the gifts God downloaded into us. It sounds more like prayer than self-promotion. Tibetans call it, “divine pride.” I call it, “radiant demise.”
