ACCORDING TO ASTROLOGY, the divine is “waking down” to itself through our bodies. Pure awareness is forever nudging our egos into a swan dive off the ledge of our sovereign Aries head into our timeless trance of toes. Why? So personal will (Aries) can be humbled and cleansed by skin-to-skin contact with the Piscean ground more> I ONCE ASKED a Tibetan Buddhist teacher what she thought was the core cause of human suffering. “Believing this place is solid,” she quipped. Of course, I thought to myself, ego has to make it solid ‘out there’ so it feels solid ‘in here.’ So long as trees and tits and power plants and politicians more> PEOPLE OFTEN ASK me how I got into astrology. Under my breath, my first answer is always: “desperation.” Perhaps the following paragraphs will give you a felt sense of the karmic set-up that pushed me into this work. Aura: dutiful, more> IMAGINE IF THE SUN second-guessed itself. Life would perish. The same is true for us. We are here to shine free of our ego’s ever-changing self-portrait, to be as generous with our presence as the Sun. This is the heart of meditation and the Leonine prescription for all forms of diminished life-force. Who are we? more> SO IN LOVE with dream interpretation is the Beloved, that S/he created “dream animals” with the power to dream their dreams rock-solid and entirely unworthy of interpretation. Bravo scientific materialists! Your denial of dreaming may be the most outrageously imaginative dream interpretation of all. Sadly, it also destroys psychic wholeness because it allows our muscle more> AH, THE FOURTH OF JULY, the picnicy domain of clannish Cancer. What’s that, you say? You’re not into the egoic land mine of family gatherings, the robotic patriotism toward the Corpratocracy? Fine. But be careful: this is the furthest the northern hemisphere ever gets from shivery January. Behind the buzz, the booze, the “bombs bursting more> WELL, DECEMBER 21, 2012 has finally come and gone. Or has it? Is not every moment, nakedly met, cataclysmic to our inner “knower?” Aren’t we all secretly pining for the day when the apocalypse of preconception finally rushes over us — even as we shiver in dread at its approach? Without a healthy sense more> UNDER STRICT ORDERS from our subconscious, Saturn does the dirty deed of severing us from work and relationships that, however much we may treasure them, are no longer an efficient vehicle of our karmicly ordained style of awakening. It is not enough, says Saturn, to enjoy a person, community or lifestyle because they give you more> THE MOON represents what we need to feel secure. What happens when we step over our hurtable human needs in order to manifest some otherwise constructive Capricorn goal? Patriarchy. Assembly lines. Manic distraction. Planecide. Until we learn to slow down, resensitize and make on-the-spot assessments of our own and others shifting inner landscape, all spirituality more> IF THE PASSAGE OF TIME isn’t a mouth-piece for God, then God is as good as mute. An extreme statement? Not to the astro-literate. Consider this: What if a viable path of Self-remembering, or dharma, is embedded not just into our yearly and monthly transits, but into the hourly flow of each day? The crimes they push against are so unspeakable, so urgent, that the cleverest, most media-grabbing protest sign would only defile and spit upon their cause. Impossible to co-opt and more frightening than the Black Bloc, these protesters do something far worse than destroy physical property; they deface the more> I RECENTLY READ AN ARTICLE by a iconoclastic, young satsang teacher I had never heard about. He painted a picture of the world as a meaningless Darwinian drama. All concepts of eternal life were disparaged and all eternal life-promising teachers were portrayed as self-aggrandizing hucksters. To him, your best chance at tuning into the mystery more> ARE YOU existentially brave? Are you willing to honestly feel into this sense that you are a separate person attempting to bridge a persistent, interpersonal gap?
