Introducing: Bise, Okinawa!

Bise (“be-seh”) is a sandy subtropical forest at the tip of a peninsula laced with shady, enchanting walking paths punctuated by cafes that spill out onto dazzling aquamarine seascapes. Every day culminates in a ritualistic gathering of souls gazing silently at the sunset- often with a traditional Sansin* (“san-sheen”) player to set the mood. *traditional Okinawan stringed instrument.

Why restrict ourselves to indoor counseling and teaching sessions when we can speak in more embodied, natural ways while sitting on a shaded bench or strolling on one of the many surrounding trails?

Our private, one-on-one sessions will take place at our house or at your nearby rental, which we are happy to help set up.

Perhaps you would like to take a trip into the mountainous Kunugami National Park to collect spring water and hike the trails?

A short walk down the road from Bise is the famous “Churaumi Aquarium” (with a 7,500 ton tank holding a gargantuan whale shark). The aquarium is located in a sprawling seaside botanical garden suitable for hours of walking, including an idyllic swimming spot called, Emerald Beach.

Of course, we are happy to share meals with you at our home and at our favorite country cafes. We’ll also help you stock up on healthy produce at the farmer’s market in the nearby port town, Motobu.

Your Hosts:
Hunter Reynolds & Junko Iida

Hunter (“Hunter-ji”)
With Sun in Gemini, Moon in Sagittarius and a stiff shot of Neptune, Hunter was born on a 12 lane expressway in Chicago and raised on a mystic Christian commune. For the last 25 years he has worked as a full-time professional Astrological counselor, teacher, writer and dharma poet with a passion for helping people make peace with their “wound-gifts” and go face-to-face with the Divine in the mirror of “the imaginary others.”

Junko (“Ju-Ju”)
With Sun in Sagittarius and Moon conjunct the Ascendant in Cancer, Junko spent her childhood moving all over Japan due to her father’s changing work assignments. An avid international traveler with a commitment to empathically attuned service, Junko is fluent in Japanese and English, trained as a professional Acupuncturist and Yoga teacher and blessed with a talent for authentic Japanese cooking. Few are better poised to be your midwife into the mystical heart of Japan!

Hunter is an incredible teacher, and while we started with the nuts and bolts of chart reading, it quickly became about delving deeper into the work of the soul. After the course, my perspective on life had changed completely and I had a new tool in my toolbox to better understand myself and more deeply support others. Okinawa itself is a healing setting, with the lush mountains, aquamarine ocean, healthy food and kind people. I found balance and tranquility there, which deepened my overall experience.  – Rebecca, Washington D.C. USA
