Are you “Alpha Sensitive?” Rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 in the following categories.
One: I Listen People into Being
I see past personality traits, relate “as awareness, to awareness,” and listen people into the fullness of Being.
Two: I Lance my Festering Homesickness
I periodically allow the illusion of separation and the collective angst of mind-on-a-countdown to penetrate me, growing stronger and stronger in intensity until my festering, underground homesickness, finally lanced, releases its mystic puss: holy tears– and with it a visceral knowing that this world is truly divine play and all separate somebody’s are rising and falling within the One Being.
Three: I Practice Doom Dissolving
I go on walks with doom-dissolving questions like, “What makes mortality praiseworthy? ” and, as answers arise, I hold them lightly, recognizing that the earnestness of my inquiry and its devotional rewiring is “answer enough.”
Four: I Repent for Empathic Failure
I endure waves of repentance whenever I experience empathic failure and pivot quickly into a deeper sense of the other’s positive intent, regardless of their ego’s clumsy execution.
Five: I practice Full-Spectrum Presence
I stand, move and talk in a ways that simultaneously embody the parts of me that are wounded, healed and brimming with unbroken otherworldly wellness.
Six: I See Stage Sets on Loan
I catch the Shepherding Presence hammering together and prying apart the stage sets that I’m tasked to play on and I notice how much I suffer when I believe the stage set being dismantled (work, relationship, home, health), was a thing of my own creation, vs. a gift on loan from God.
Seven: I Practice Deathbed Training
I treat every passing meeting and conversation as an invitation to practice standing at the unborn, undying center of the wheel of death and rebirth; every encounter, brimming with the innocence and excitement of birth upon first meeting, the rising fire of midlife during mid-visit, the fading chi of old age as the conversation winds down and the graceful acceptance of death at the time of parting.
Eight: I Collaboratively Mine
In my relating to others, I instinctively inquire, “What rich and soulful mystery begs to be collaboratively mined in this field of Interbeing?
Nine: I’m Drenched in Reincarnation
My days are drenched in reincarnation as I savor the world-building/ world-destroying nature of my gaze: each “eye-socket framed landscape” spontaneously slapped together, then vaporized, the second my head pivots in a new direction. So hungry is soul for world-building rebirth!
Ten: I Sting happily Alongside the Shepherding Presence
I thank the Shepherding Presence, day and night, for sprinkling benevolent salt in my wound of separation, stinging me ever closer to eternity-with-eyes and “grateful goodbyes.”
