November was thresholdy. December: time to step across.
Saturn and Mercury have gone direct. There is space to move. Yet so many of our steps are still labored, halting. Why?
Perhaps because we are doing more than advancing towards a worthy goal. We are re-wiring ourselves. Old habits and identities are dying. Our Sagittarius hips, buttocks and thighs want to pump hard and build momentum but the terrain is uneven, demanding split second mapping and careful foot falls.
The best we can do is move at the speed of the grace.
December’s Tao? Well, it’s peppered with ego-humbling Saturn squares that test for strategy, realism and resolve.
Crucible of truth
The month opens with Venus fresh into the sign of Sagittarius sextiling Pluto in Aquarius creating a space for intense togetherness that culminates in a “tell all” Full Moon in Gemini on December 4/5.
With Mercury now direct and Mars in Sagittarius forming a trine to Chiron in Aries, truths that were once intimidating can now be spoken in ways that heal and deepen intimacy.
For the last six months, on a shadowy rack in our subconscious, a project has been baking in Saturn retro’s kiln. A piece of otherwise droopy putty (egoic ambition) was hardening into solid, soul-infused work. Now it’s time to pull it out.
It looks different now. Adequate and perfectly usable, but coated with a strange molten blemish that insults the belief that we were its Designer.
Ah, holy realism.
When to “go public?” Depends. If it’s a psycho-spiritual offering, perhaps late January or mid February when Saturn and Neptune move, once and for all, into the assertive sign of Aries (Neptune in Aries: Jan 26th. Saturn in Aries on Feb 13th).
On December 6/7 a grand water trine is formed between Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn, providing the positivity needed to overcome the organizational delays and obstacles presented by the Saturn/Mars square. Great time to finish up an old project or break a new one down into actionable steps.
On December 10th and 11th, Mercury in Scorpio conjoins Lilith, opposes Uranus in Taurus and Trines Neptune. Translation: don’t be a half-hearted detective. See past the market-tested branding to orphaned ego’s muted cry for love.
Note for fridge:
Are you mystically curious enough to loosen other’s knower knot?
On December 15th Mars moves into Capricorn, followed by the Sun (21st) and Venus (24th), turning the second half of the month into a time of structured action and concrete implementation.
Dec 19th New Moon in Sagittarius
The Sun and Venus form squares to Saturn and Neptune during this normally upbeat New Moon while Jupiter squares Chiron, testing the viability of our dreams and challenging us to deepen our commitment to happiness– not for ourselves or for any particular reason– but as an Bodhisattva give-away.
December’s happiness? Collaborative self-inquiry. Buoyed by the wonder of the Unborn shining from every eye, this New Moon invites us to take turns finishing the prompt,
Before I descend into invisibility…
Venus squares Neptune on the 24th, turning the “crucible of truth” theme of the first half of the month into teary gratitude for the souls who asked,
Who do I want to lose everything with?
Then chose us.
Time to take a sober Capricorn look, near and far, at who our “allies in awakening” actually are.
Perhaps you’ve lost touch or never physically met them. No matter. This isn’t about friendship; it’s a soulful assessment.
Curious. Did you “manifest” them or were you simply “ripe to self-reckon” in front of a “good enough” soul mirror?
Ah, holy realism.
