Astrological War Stories: 12 dramas on the screen of a deeper seer

war storiesAS FICTION WRITERS know, all deeply immersive, absorbing stories are war stories:

1) human vs. human
2) human vs. nature
3) human vs. self
4) human vs. God

and they all proceed from conflict to climax to fleeting resolution. Why do we get so drawn in by these edgy oppositions? Because they deliver greasy, fast food identity. Because meaningless suspense is the tried-and-true formula that mind uses to lure us out of timeless presence into a world where me-story fiction is hip and vital to survive.

Want a more penetrating exposé of ego’s identity-hardening techniques? Check out the twelve archetypal war stories listed below. Notice which ones say “gotcha,” then be a real war hero and confess that you can’t break this stressful habit of mind by and for yourself, alone. You must cultivate steady resolve by allowing your heart to soften and break for the millions (think of it: millions) of other body/minds who are, at this very moment, vexed by some permutation of this archetypal possession. As the suffering of the presence-terrified ego in all beings becomes more and more palpable in our everyday life, it becomes intolerable to sprinkle water on the seeds of this very same suffering within us.

Sound heavy? Not from the evolving soul’s perspective. As Mooji says: “The success of mind is that it fails.” Translation: the cynical plot lines of the identity-grasping mind are constantly frustrating us back into spacious presence. Think of it: Both light and dark are on our side!

So how about you? Which of the 12 trashy novels listed below do you get wrapped up in? No matter which page-turner you choose, the question is always the same:

Will we break our anxious, me-story momentum, return to timeless presence and allow personality to flower naturally, in service to a greater will, or Tao? Or will we continually turn away from our true nature (loving vastness) to plug in some silence-killing, market-tested me-story that leaves us feeling safe, flat and unseen?

Suggestion: Drop all your preconceived knowledge about your birth chart and feel freshly into which battlefields your ego is currently playing on. Why? Because, at some point in our life (by personal transit or induction into someone else’s mythic mood) we will be asked to bathe every one of these war stories in merciful light.
